Window of the Past

The window looks out from a traditional blackhouse on the Isle of Lewis. The roof is straw and has to replaced every one to two years. The shot provides a glimps of how the people of Lewis used the natural materials at their disposal - grass, rock, wood.

I like the mix of textures in this shot.
